It’s an exciting 2023-2024 season ahead for the choir — and for our audience — as the Peterborough Singers share the love of choral music, rounding out our thirtieth anniversary.

First, embrace (or discover!) the annual tradition of Yuletide Cheer on November 25, a concert that rings in the joy of the season. Artistic director Syd Birrell is at the organ and the choir is joined by the brilliant brass of the Venabrass ensemble.

Next, Handel’s Messiah on December 18. Speaking of proud traditions, the choir sings Messiah every year, and audiences love the way each performance has its beloved, well-known musical moments but also its own special spark. This year’s guest vocal soloists are Lesley Bouza,
Lillian Brooks, Joshua Wales and Graham Robinson.

Come February 24, 2024 we delve into the music of one of the great pop artists of our time, Elton John. The Music of Elton John features music that connects so many people to a time or a place or a memory with unforgettable songs.

J.S. Bach’s monumental and profound masterpiece, St Matthew Passion, concludes the season on May 11, 2024. Guest artists Janelle Lucyk, Ian Sabourin, Adam Bishop and Alex Dobson, accompanied by Ian Sadler at the organ and a chamber orchestra, will join the choir for this
gripping work.

Bonus: The Unconcert on October 16, 2023 (7 p.m. Murray Street Baptist Church; $10 at the door). It’s a fundraiser for the choir, but so much m ore — a terrific evening of fun that celebrates choir members showcasing individual talents.
