Community Service and Outreach

A main goal of the Peterborough Singers is to benefit the community by doing what we do best — singing. Serving the community is dear to our hearts. We regularly participate in fundraisers and concerts for worthy causes. In the 2015-16 season, the Singers combined fundraising and community singing in a Christmas sing-a-thon that saw groups of choristers visit seven local seniors homes.

Youth and Local Talent
: The choir gives young local talent the opportunity to perform with world-class soloists and musicians, and it supports and acknowledges upcoming singers and composers.

  • The Peterborough Singers–Girls’ Vocal Challenge Trophy is presented each year at the Peterborough Kiwanis Music Festival. In 2018, the winner was Morgan Garbutt.

Musical Journeys: The choir takes excellent choral music to Canadian cities and abroad! In 2007, members of the Peterborough Singers took the best of sacred music to Winchester, UK. In July 2011, they sang services in England at York Minster for a week, and they have been invited back for 2017.
