The Singers present an online premiere of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, featuring Peterborough Dance Collective (May 1)

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana is, in a word, thrilling. And the Peterborough Singers are thrilled to present the famous work online (May 1 at 7 p.m.). It’s a premiere of a collaboration with Peterborough Dance Collective that took place in 2012, captured for DVD but never before publicly shown. The link for the video premiere is here.

The collaboration also marked the first performance of Peterborough Dance Collective, led by Rachel Bemrose, who choreographed the work. The seed money from that concert went on to launch Arts for Awareness, raising thousands of dollars of support for local mental health projects. Since then, Arts for Awareness has partnered with various charities to raise funds and awareness of social issues.

You can find out more about Arts for Awareness here, and watch a trailer for the original 2012 concert here.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars: May 1 at 7 p.m, the Peterborough Singers present a free, online concert of Carmina Burana featuring Peterborough Dance Collective.

Once again, the specific YouTube link for the concert is here.

Our thanks go to season sponsors Fran Allen and David Tomlinson of Royal LePage for their unwavering support and to Steward Morrison Insurance, the original sponsors of this concert.
