At the last rehearsal before the Singers' performance of Handel's Messiah, which happens without benefit of a dress rehearsal, by the way, choristers received a challenge they could not refuse. "Who could devise and wear the 'ugliest' or 'most ridiculous' holiday outfit?"
Competitors were very keen. Many showed up to rehearsal on December 11 in the traditional "ugly Christmas sweater."
Yes, there were notable entries amongst the women. Who can forget Rebecca's "plumber" Santa sweater or the many attractive female elves?
But the men seemed to enter into the spirit of the occasion with even more gusto. . . . They wore full-body costumes, from elvish ears to Grinch T-shirts and even a Christmas suit and tie. Here are a few of the entries.
Enjoy! And have a happy holiday and a joyful new year.
