The Spice Bards are back again, with a Renaissance reimagining of the Smash Mouth hit “All Star.”
By Maya Ogranovitch Scott

The Peterborough Singers may be best known for singing choral masterworks, from Handel’s Messiah every December to the planned performance of Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass next spring. But longtime concertgoers know that many surprising individual talents hide within the choir – and the first unofficial concert of the season sets the stage to highlight them.

The UnConcert fundraiser is another beloved Peterborough Singers’ tradition, one that allows individual members of the Singers to shine, all while raising money for the operation of the choir. This variety show is eclectic, casual, and fun, and this year’s performance is shaping up to be full of surprises.

Beyond solo singing and small groups of vocalists performing a variety of genres, you can look forward to enjoying instrumental pieces, dance numbers, and even a planned collaboration between founding Artistic Director Syd Birrell and the new Artistic Director of the Singers, Shawn Grenke. You don’t want to miss it!

The Front Porch Warblers will share an a cappella piece by Ola Gjeilo.

Join the Singers on Sunday, October 25 at Murray Street Baptist Church, starting at 7 PM.

Tickets are only ten dollars at the door. All contributions go to supporting the choir and its mission of enriching and transforming lives through the learning, singing, and sharing of choral music in our community.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Tickets are also available at the following outlets: Ashburnham Foot & Ankle Centre, Sweet Fern, Happenstance Books & Yarns (Lakefield)
